Performance

Taking advantage of the exclusive variable compression (VC) technology introduced by the brand in 2018, the QX60 strikes a balance of power and efficiency with an all-aluminum 2.0-liter turbocharged VC inline-4 engine, producing 268 hp at 5,600 rpm and 286 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm.  

While many engines in this segment are turbocharged, they must reduce their engine’s compression to accommodate turbocharging, effectively increasing compression. In contrast, the INFINITI system allows high compression power when the turbo boost is low and then adjusts as the turbo boost increases. The result is an engine that always feels responsive, especially in the low-to-mid-range rpm where drivers most often demand quick acceleration. 

The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission with standard paddle shifters and a shift-by-wire selector. The transmission can modify its shift logic based on the selected drive modes, allowing for smooth and economical driving when needed or sharp, quick downshifts for a sportier response. With standard front-wheel drive, the model is estimated to achieve city/highway/combined fuel economy of 22/28/24 mpg, while all-wheel drive versions are slightly behind at 22/27/24 mpg. 

When properly equipped, the QX60 has a best-in-class towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. The AUTOGRAPH grade includes a tow hitch with a 7-pin connector and Trailer Sway Control software.

Exterior

The QX60’s already attractive shape remains, but several Artistry in Motion details introduced by the QX80 enhance the overall appearance. The grille is now filled with slanted vertical bars inspired by a bamboo forest. The front logo is now illuminated, and the DRL lights are segmented in a manner that resembles piano keys.  

Along the side, 20-inch wheels are now standard across the model line. New lower body trim combines with the existing roofline to visually elongate the profile. The rear bumper area has been simplified and features more body color for a cleaner look. The Autograph model adds a welcoming light path starting with the illuminated front badge, followed by outward sequenced lighting of each DRL segment, culminating in an INFINITI wordmark and wing-like geometric shapes projected onto the ground on each side. 

Interior

PURE and LUXE models feature seating capacity for seven. SPORT and AUTOGRAPH models trade the second-row bench for two individual buckets with a removable center console and overall seating for six. A new Stone Gray interior treatment joins the existing Graphite and Saddle Brown selections. PURE and LUXE grades feature silver metallic weave trim, while SPORT and AUTOGRAPH grades are accented by black open-pore ash wood with a metal inlay. 

A panoramic moonroof, 8-way power, heated front seats, and a power liftgate are standard across the model lineup, with a cooling function available on LUXE and higher trims.  

Technology

The infotainment system now uses Google Built-in for quick response and easy operation, featuring onboard Google Maps, the natural language Google Assistant, and the option to download additional apps from the Google Store. LUXE and SPORT grades now feature a new 3D Around View® Monitor that enhances the traditional surround view system with eight fixed perspectives around the vehicle. The AUTOGRAPH allows for quick viewing of everything with a spin of the vehicle image on the 12.3-inch touchscreen. The system also includes the “Invisible Hood” view, which displays an image beneath the engine bay to help you spot obstacles near your front wheels, parking lines, or curbs. 

Even bigger news is the new audio system in LUXE and higher grades, developed by high-end American audio firm Klipsch. LUXE and SPORT grades feature 16 speakers, including four titanium tweeters, an 8-inch TriPower® subwoofer, and a 12-channel amplifier with 600 watts of power. Starting on the QX80, the AUTOGRAPH’s Klipsch system introduces the innovative Individual Audio technology with headrest speakers, allowing only the driver to hear certain audio, such as navigation directions or phone calls, while keeping the rest of the cabin’s music uninterrupted. Conversely, the driver can enjoy a favorite playlist and hear map guidance without disturbing passengers in the rear seats.

Safety and Driver Assistance

In addition to the camera systems mentioned above, all QX60 models feature a full set of safety and driver assistance technologies, including:

In addition, all LUXE and above models feature a Front Sonar system and Driver Attention Alert. 

The AUTOGRAPH offers possibly the most advanced driver assistance feature of all, with ProPILOT Assist 2.1. This enables true hands-off driving on pre-mapped highways, with the vehicle handling acceleration, steering, and braking. The driver just needs to pay attention and be able to intervene and override the system at any time.
