Compare the 2025 INFINITI QX60 to the Competition

2025 INFINITI QX50 vs the Competition

The QX60 is a luxury mid-size crossover designed to comfortably transport large or smaller families with occasional friends or extended family. The model first debuted in 2013 under the name JX35. A year later, it was renamed QX60 in accordance with Infiniti’s new model nomenclature. Initially powered by a 3.5-liter V6, the engine has since been replaced by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that features Nissan’s exclusive variable compression technology. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and is available with standard front-wheel drive (FWD) in PURE and LUXE trims, while all-wheel drive is offered on those trims and is standard on SENSORY and AUTOGRAPH trim levels. The 2025 QX60 is the second-generation model, which debuted for the 2022 model year.

2025 INFINITI QX60 vs the Acura MDX

The Acura MDX first launched in 2001 and can be credited as the first 3-row crossover vehicle sold in the U.S. The current model is the fourth generation design, which debuted in the 2022 model year, with a minor design change for 2025 featuring an updated interior and a new infotainment system. The MDX has long been powered by a 3.5-liter V6, and it continues to be. However, the high-performance Type-S model features a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. The MDX shares its platform with the Honda Passport, Odyssey minivan, and Ridgeline pickup truck.

  • The starting MSRP of the QX60 PURE FWD models is $50,200, which is exactly $1000 less than the starting price for the base MDX with FWD.
  • The models trade off in power advantages, with the MDX having the edge in horsepower (290 vs. 268), while the QX60 offers more foot-pounds of torque (286 vs. 267).
  • The QX60 achieves better fuel efficiency for city, highway, and combined mileage than the MDX (22/25/24 vs. 19/26/22).
  • The models have the same overall length, and their wheelbase differs by just an inch (9’6” vs. 9’5”). However, the QX features a wider body (7’2” vs. 6’6”).
  • The QX60 offers significantly greater towing capability, with a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds compared to 3,500 pounds for the MDX.
  • The QX60 has less cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row (14.5 vs. 16.3). However, the QX60 provides more cargo space behind the second-row seats (41.6 vs. 39.1) and behind the first row of seats (74.4 vs. 71.4).
  • Almost all interior metrics are within an inch of each other.
  • The QX60 has a significantly higher maximum payload capacity of 1,520 lb. compared to 1,173 lb. for the MDX.
  • The QX60 has HVAC vents for the third row, and the MDX does not.

2025 INFINITI QX60 vs the Lexus TX 350

After the MDX launched in 2001, it had about 12 years to itself in the Japanese luxury 3-row crossover market. The QX60 was the first to take on the MDX’s turf, and now, after more than 20 years, comes the TX, Lexus’s first 3-row crossover. The vehicle shares its platform with the Toyota Grand Highlander and offers seating for six or seven. The specific model names depict the different available drivetrains. The TX 350 is closest to the QX60, featuring a 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine producing 275 hp. The 500h is a hybrid with the 2.4-liter engine as its base, and the TX500h+ is a plug-in hybrid using a 3.4-liter V6 engine as its base. Both hybrid models extend beyond the QX60’s price range.

  • The QX60’s entry price of $50,200 is significantly lower than the TX 350’s price of $55,140, making the QX60 LUXE the most competitively priced model compared to the base TX.
  • With its larger engine, the TX 350 has more power than the QX60 with 275 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque.
  • The QX60 achieves one additional mile per gallon across the board compared to the TX 350 (22/28/24 vs. 21/27/23 for FWD models).
  • The QX60 offers one additional gear ratio with its 9-speed automatic.
  • The TX is generally a larger vehicle; it is taller, longer, and has a longer wheelbase. The QX60, however, is 8 inches wider (7’2” vs. 6’6”).
  • The wider body gives the QX60 more 1st/2nd row shoulder room (60.6/59.7 vs. 60.0/59.1).
  • The QX60 also offers slightly more hip room in the 1st and 2nd rows (58.8/56.7 vs. 56.5/56.8).
  • The QX60 surpasses the TX in towing capacity (6,000 lb. vs. 5,000).
  • The QX60 LUXE trim features a Bose® 15-speaker surround-sound audio system, while the base TX 350 is equipped with a non-branded 12-speaker system.
  • Of the two models, only the QX60 offers the convenience of a capless fuel filler.
  • The base TX350 does not include driver position memory. The QX60 LUXE offers driver memory settings for the driver seat, side mirrors, steering wheel, liftgate height, and preferred audio and climate control settings.
  • A power panoramic sunroof is standard on the QC60 LUXE but not available on the base TX 350.

2025 INFINITI QX60 vs the Volvo XC-90

The Volvo XC90 was the second 3-row crossover on the market, debuting one year after the MDX. Volvo has taken its time with redesigns, as the current model is only the second generation XC90. It was introduced ten years ago in 2015 as a 2016 model with only minor updates in the interim. Like the QX60, the XC90 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers power to all four wheels.

  • The Volvo is significantly more expensive, with a starting MSRP of $57,400 compared to $50,200 for the QX60. A roughly price-comparable LUXE trim to the base XC90 would be priced at $58,800.
  • The QX60 surpasses the XC90 in horsepower (268 vs. 247) and torque (286 vs. 266 foot-pounds).
  • The XC90 offers a more powerful turbocharged and supercharged version of the 2.0-liter engine, but its $71,900 MSRP exceeds the price range of the QX60.
  • The transmissions of both models are similar, but the QX60 has nine gear ratios compared to the XC90’s eight.
  • The QX60 has a greater maximum towing capacity (6,000 lb. vs. 5,000 lb.).
  • The QX60 has a more spacious cabin with 155.1 cubic feet compared to 119.6 in the XC90.
  • Concerning passenger volume specifically, the QX60 offers 140.6 cubic feet, while the XC90 provides 103.8 cubic feet.
  • Second-row passengers have a little more space in the XC60, including legroom (37.7 vs. 37.0 inches), shoulder room (59.7 vs. 56.5 inches), and hip room being close to the same (56.7 vs. 56.5 inches).
  • The QX60 has knee airbags for both the driver and front passenger, while the XC90 only provides this feature for the driver.
  • The QX60 LUXE trim features the Bose® 15-speaker surround-sound audio system, while the XC90 has a non-branded 10-speaker system.
  • The surround-view camera system comes standard on the QX60 LUXE but is unavailable on the base XC90.

2025 INFINITI QX60 vs the Audi Q7

In 2006, the Audi A7 followed the Volvo XC90 as the second luxury 3-row crossover from Europe. It was Audi’s first-ever SUV. Originally available with both gas and diesel powertrains, the Q7 was among the models in the VW/Audi diesel emissions scandal and is no longer available with diesel engines. The current model is in its second generation, which began in the 2016 model year. All Q7 models come standard with the Audi Quattro AWD system.

  • The Q7’s starting MSRP is much higher than the QX60’s at $60,500. This makes the $61,100 QX60 Sensory model with AWD the most price-compatible model.
  • Both models are powered by 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4s, and the power output is close, but the QX has the edge in both horsepower (268 vs. 261) and torque (286 lb-ft vs. 273).
  • The QX60 offers one additional gear ratio with its 9-speed automatic.
  • The QX60 has the advantage in fuel efficiency (22/27/24 vs. 20/26/22).
  • Both models are within an inch of each other in length, width, and height, but the QX60 surpasses the Q7’s cargo capacity in all configurations:
  • Behind the 3rd row seat: 14.5 vs. 13.6 cubic feet
  • Behind the 2nd row seat: 41.6 vs. 35.7
  • Behind the 1st row seats 75.4 vs. 68.1
  • Towing capacity is to the QX60’s advantage with its 6,000-pound capacity compared to 4,400 pounds for the Q7.
  • The QX60 LUXE also provides trailer stability control, which the Q7 lacks.
  • The QX60 provides more shoulder room for the second row (59.7 vs. 58.5 inches) and third row (55.6 vs 49.4 inches).
  • Standard features on the QX60 SENSORY model vs. the base Q7 include:
    • Dual front knee airbags
    • HVAC system with Humidity/dewpoint sensors
    • Third-row HVAC vents
    • Cornering brake control
    • Capless fuel filler
    • Memorized settings for passenger seat, climate control, and liftgate height
    • USB-A and USB-C power outlets for all three rows
    • Remote engine start
    • Surround view camera
