Performance

The 450-horsepower 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 propels the QX80 with ease. With 516 pound-feet of torque, you can tow up to 8,500 pounds. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. You can choose between rear-wheel drive, which has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 16 mpg in the city and 20 MPG on the highway. Available on all models is a true 4-wheel drive system that maintains the city mpg and lowers the highway estimate by just one mpg. 

You can equip your QX80 with an available Electronic Air Suspension. This system allows the vehicle to adjust its height for different situations, such as lowering when parked to make loading cargo and passengers easier. For instance, the air suspension drops by 1.2 inches at speed to improve aerodynamics. When parked, it can lower by 2.8 inches from the normal height to an Easy Access level—making it much easier to get in and out of the vehicle or load cargo. Additionally, an Off-road setting raises the air suspension by 2.1 inches above the QX80’s standard ride height for rough terrain.  

There is an available Dynamic Digital Suspension that constantly monitors the road and adjusts damping force to provide smoother and more controlled lane changes, along with improved ride quality. It controls vehicle movements, reduces body roll during turns, and minimizes up-and-down motions on bumpy roads.  

Additional enhancements that improve ride and handling include a frame with 25% more torsional stiffness and 57% more lateral stiffness compared to the previous design. The adoption of an electric power steering rack enables advanced driver assistance features.

Exterior

The QX80 was designed to blend style and substance. This is what INFINITI describes as Artistry in Motion. The profile appears more upright and modern. It features a new interpretation of INFINITI’s “double-arch grille,” which has a three-dimensional texture with vertical elements inspired by the linear shapes of a bamboo forest. 

A multi-segment LED lighting signature moves the main beams lower on the front clip. The upper lighting units serve as driving lights and turn signals. The INFINITI logo is lit up for better visibility at night. The rear lighting units are also LED and run horizontally across the rear section of the vehicle below the glass line.  

Flush door handles enhance the aerodynamic profile and automatically present themselves when the QX80 is unlocked. The side window design provides ample glass for all passengers while guiding airflow along the sleek side profile. The profile remains refined, highlighted by black door and glass pillars and two smooth character lines that define the shape of the QX80.   

The available INFINITI Light Path uses LED lights to create an impressive welcome sequence. When the vehicle is unlocked, the INFINITI emblem lights up, followed by individual elements in the DRLs, starting from the center and moving outward. It concludes with the INFINITI Light Path, a striking projection on the ground displaying the INFINITI wordmark and wing-like geometric shapes. Wheels range from 20 to 22 inches, with each trim featuring a unique wheel design.  

Interior

There is maximum space available for passengers and everything else. With seating for up to eight people across three rows, passengers will enjoy the highest level of luxury ever crafted by INFINITI.  

It starts with a cabin heavily inspired by Japanese culture and the principle of miyabi. Rooted in Kyoto artisan traditions, it emphasizes layered, soft materials and a beautiful, flowing technology integration with high-quality materials. Soft-touch surfaces are abundant, with careful attention paid to layering them over hard surfaces where passengers’ arms or elbows might rest. Additionally, features like leather accents, open-pore wood trims, suede, and laser-cut metal inlays smoothly incorporate high-tech elements such as touchscreens.  

For all three rows, there is 161.1 cubic feet of passenger space in which to relax. Seating for up to eight is available, as well as seven-seat configurations.  

The climate control system is operated through a convenient 9-inch touchscreen mounted below the infotainment display to keep you comfortable- whether through cooling or warming. This screen also manages the heating or cooling functions of the front seating. You can also select drive modes for the 2025 QX80—Standard, Eco, Sport, Snow, Tow, and Personal. The screen uses haptic feedback to help users “feel” when they have selected the correct on-screen element.  

To enhance the ambiance inside, a standard panoramic moonroof with one-touch open/close, tilt, and a power-sliding sunshade allows more natural light into the cabin when needed. You can also set the mood in the evening with a 64-color Personalized Ambient Lighting, along with lighted logos and character lines throughout the passenger area.  

The cargo area begins with a 22-cubic-foot space behind the third row of seats. When both the second and third rows are folded down, you get a total of 101 cubic feet of cargo space.

Technology

The QX80 gives you the license to indulge in the latest INFINITI luxury. Part of this luxury includes advanced technology. It begins with dual 14.3-inch monolith-style displays on the instrument cluster. In front of the driver, there’s a customizable instrument cluster with three views – Classic, Elegant, and Enhanced. In each view, you can tailor the information displayed to suit your needs.  

INFINITI’s InTouch infotainment system is integrated into the right display and powered by Google Built-in. You can access your Google apps independently of a mobile device, including Google Assistant, where you can use voice commands for navigation and more. USB Type-C ports are available in every row, with a total of eight throughout the cabin, offering up to 15-watt, 3.0-amp power ratings for fast charging devices. Additionally, a wireless phone charger is located inside the front center console.    

Klipsch is known for designing reference loudspeakers for both home and studio environments. INFINITI is the first automotive brand to equip in-vehicle speakers from this highly respected manufacturer. PURE and LUXE models come with a 14-speaker premium sound system as standard, while Sensory and Autograph models feature a 24-speaker Reference Premiere Premium Audio system that creates a superior sound environment.    

Key among the camera features is the Invisible Hood View, which, as described, allows you to see objects blocked by the hood. The camera system also includes a 3D Around View® Monitor with Moving Object Detection, featuring a 3D spin function and eight pre-selected angles that let the driver see around the vehicle, providing a more natural view of the surroundings when parking or maneuvering.  

For rearward vision, the 2025 QX80 is available with a Smart Rear View Mirror, which enables you to see directly behind you even if the reflective view is blocked by cargo or passengers. Additionally, the Rear View Monitor features a special zoom mode to help with hitching up a trailer.  

Safety and Driver Assistance

Driver assistance is essential these days. Standard driver assistance features include:

• Blind Spot Warning – including a Trailer Blind Spot Warning system that works when towing trailers up to 33 feet in length.

Standard on the QX80 is ProPILOT Assist 1.1, which combines Intelligent Cruise Control with steering assistance to help the driver stay centered in their lane. The system also uses data from the navigation system to proactively adjust vehicle speed for curves, interchanges, and other driving situations.  

The QX80 is also available with the ProPILOT Assist 2.1 system. This system elevates the driving experience by letting attentive drivers take their hands off the wheel and their feet off the pedals in various freeway driving situations.
