Comparing the 2025 INFINITI QX80 with the Cadillac Escalade

August 1st, 2025 by

If you expect nothing but the best, you may be in for a surprise. It is true that the Cadillac Escalade is one of the most desirable large luxury SUVs in the market. You see it ferrying well-heeled travelers to the airport, celebrities to movie premieres, and families to soccer practice. Escalades do so at a level of luxury expected in top-shelf machines.

However, there is an argument against the Cadillac. This particular vehicle is built in the U.S.A., offers the highest level of engineering and technology, and is very elegant on its own merits. That vehicle would be the 2025 INFINITI QX80

Comparing the two may be quite a challenge. The website Autoevolution has done it for us. Before we get into the comparison, let’s review what the 2025 QX80 has to offer.

An elegant exterior lends itself to a beautiful interior with seating for up to eight passengers. You are treated to two 14.3-inch screens—one for instrumentation, the other for infotainment. They provide more than enough information and engagement to keep you thoroughly entertained. The 2025 QX80 offers Klipsch premium audio on all models. The Sensory and Autograph models have 26 speakers of studio-quality sound throughout the cabin.

Power-wise, the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 offers 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Add a nine-speed automatic transmission and available all-wheel drive for smooth shifting and great traction year-round. Select a trim level that has the Dynamic Digital Suspension that offers the right amount of dampening for the road ahead.

With ProPILOT Assist 1.1, you get the peace of mind you want when driving down the road. It brings together a list of driver assistance features, making sure you get to where you need to go safely and securely. For another level of confidence, ProPILOT Assist 2.1 lets you take your hands off the wheel on compatible stretches of highway.

The comparison between the QX80 and Escalade began as a drag race between the two. The result should not shock you. In a race starting at 37 mph, the QX80 beat the Escalade by a full second. The margin was such that Autoevolution stated that “you could easily have parked a school bus in between them.”

Luxury is never measured by a drag race alone. It is measured by how you feel when you drive it and how comfortable you are as a passenger. It is about the experience. One thing is for sure: the 2025 INFINITI QX80 must be experienced to fully enjoy the luxury it offers you.
