The 2025 INFINITI QX80 Takes the Cars.com Child Seat Test

Our most luxurious Infiniti—the 2025 QX80—is designed to seat seven to eight people comfortably. While treated to the finest sound and technology, it is built to be safe, aided by the latest driver assistance technology with ProPILOT Assist 1.1 and 2.1. 

Equally important is how your children will be able to ride safely inside your 2025 QX80. Installing child seats is an important part of transporting your most precious passengers. That is why Cars.com tests every vehicle to see how well child seats fit. The latest vehicle it tested was a 2025 QX80 Autograph.  

With every vehicle it tests, Cars.com uses several child seat types. The editors use an infant seat, a convertible front- and rear-facing seat, and a booster seat. Cars.com checks for latch fitment for child seat installation and access to the third row of seats from the rear doors.  

According to Cars.com, the 2025 QX80 passed the test in the second row of the Autograph. The editors said that the latches were “exposed for easy access and connection. Two top tether anchors are clearly marked on the seatback.” That helped when it came to installing the infant seat, the rear- and front-facing convertible seat, and the booster seat on the captain’s chairs. In these categories, the QX80 received an “A” grade—the highest mark from Cars.com.  

In the third row, the latches scored an “A” from Cars.com. The editors commented: “One set of lower anchors on the passenger side; they’re exposed for easy connection. There are three top tether anchors on the seatbacks; they’re also easy to find and use.” Plus, they also gave an “A” for the fitment of the forward-facing convertible seat. They noted that removing the head restraint helps in creating a better fit for that seat type in the third row. A booster seat can fit in the third row, but Cars.com pointed out that booster seats should be placed in the outboard positions.  

Once the child seats are latched and securely attached to the QX80 seats, make sure your children are safely belted—using either the child seat harnesses or if applicable, the SUV’s seat belts. Everyone should be comfortable before taking off on any trip. Don’t forget to have the Tri-Zone Climate Control System on to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
