​​What Safety Systems Are On Your INFINITI?​

Every INFINITI has been engineered to keep you and everyone on board safe. Each component has a specific purpose that makes the difference and keeps you on the road. Let’s explore each one to see how they keep you and your fellow passengers safe.

Front Seat Pre-Crash Seat Belts: If the driver must apply the brakes in case of an emergency to avoid a collision, the front belts will tighten to lock the driver and front passenger in.  

INFINITI Advanced AirBag System: Your INFINITI is equipped with airbags throughout the cabin. However, the INFINITI Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front airbags and knee bags are found ahead of both front seats. Airbags are designed to cushion the occupants’ impact and, therefore, reduce the possibility of serious injury in the event of a crash. 

Side-Impact Supplemental AirBags: One pair of airbags that are found on your INFINITI on the outboard side of the seats and along the headliner – also known as a Curtain Airbag. Airbags are designed to cushion the occupants’ impact and therefore reduce the possibility of serious injury in the event of a crash. Primarily, when the impact affects the side of your vehicle, these airbags will be deployed to protect you against such impacts.  

Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA): This system senses panic braking from the speed of the brake pedal’s travel and applies all available power to boost the brake. Another step further is the new Predictive Forward Collision Warning w/Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) mitigation that interacts with the brakes to immediately stop your INFINITI from a collision entirely. 

Lane Departure Warning System: Lane changes can be a challenge whenever you are on the highway or a major thoroughfare. Through a visual indicator on the mirror, this system warns you of a vehicle that will be in the way even if you are signaling your lane change. 

Lane Departure Prevention System: This takes the above a step further. If you find that you and your INFINITI are getting close to the lane marker, the vehicle automatically reacts through brake and steering intervention to bring you back onto your lane. Sensors detect where your vehicle is in relation to lane markers to keep you from a collision on either side of the vehicle.  

Vehicle Dynamic Control: This system helps drivers maintain control of their vehicle. It monitors the vehicle’s steering angle, wheel speed, and lateral acceleration and predicts how the vehicle will behave based on signals from the sensors. It does so by adjusting braking and engine torque to help keep the vehicle on its intended path.   

Brake Override Technology: This safety feature reduces engine power when the brake and gas pedals are pressed at the same time. An indicator will flash on the instrument cluster that informs you of this situation.  

Traction Control System: Even if your INFINITI is equipped with all-wheel drive, there may be times when you need to keep your vehicle from overreacting to road conditions, such as wet or icy surfaces. When there is a loss of traction, the system intervenes to bring your vehicle in line to prevent skidding in these conditions. It also works on dry surfaces if you find yourself losing control of your vehicle, such as going into a curve at a higher rate of speed. Keep in mind this system is always on. You can turn it off or switch to a more performance-oriented drive mode, which can turn the traction control off.
