​​INFINITI QX60 Car Seat Check​

One of the main reasons buyers get SUVs is to have vehicles that are better fits for children and all the stuff that automatically comes along with them: large car seats, strollers, diaper bags, so on and so forth. Cars.com does the important work of fitting different styles of car seats in vehicles and assigning them grades on how well they did. In a recent test, the editors put the 2025 INFINITI QX60 through its Car Seat Check testing.  

How the Car Seat Check Test Is Conducted 

For the Car Seat Check of the INFINITI, and every other vehicle tested in this series, Cars.com uses a Chicco KeyFit 30 infant safety seat, Graco Contender 65 convertible seat, and a Graco TurboBooster seat. The editors move the front seats to accommodate a six-foot-tall driver and a shorter front passenger. The booster seat is placed behind the driver, with the convertible and infant seats behind the passenger. Since this QX60 was equipped with a second-row middle seat, the testers also use the forward-facing convertible child seat in the middle seat.  

What Cars.com Had to Say 

So how did INFINITI do? According to Cars.com, quite well: “… the QX60 continues to excel with easy-access lower anchors and plenty of legroom in the second row … For this Car Seat Check, we tested the Luxe trim with a second-row bench and two-position third row.” 

Top Scores in Almost Every Category 

The QX60 was given a grade of A in 6 of the 9 different tests, including the Latch test, rear-facing convertible, forward-facing convertible, infant seat, third-row Latch, and third-row access. The editors scored the INFINITI a B for the booster seat and third-row forward-facing convertible. When testing the booster seat in the third row, Cars.com gave the QX60 a grade of C.  

An Updated Engine  

For 2025 the QX60 receives new tech along with a potent new engine that increases fuel efficiency and driving dynamics. The INFINITI crossover is available in four trim levels including Pure, Luxe, Sensory, and Autograph. It is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine that has 268 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque.
